Daily Kos Editor Suggests Climate Skeptics Should Be Euthanized

A Daily Kos contributing editor has suggested that “Steve Milloy and his buddies” commit suicide or be euthanized apparently for the crime of opposing global warming alarmism. Amid a rant on his Examiner.com blog about skeptics “carpet-bomb[ing] newspaper editorial pages with climate change disinformation…], Steven Alexander, who writes for Daily Kos under the nom-de-plume “Darksyde,” wrote that: … if only Milloy and his buddies could check into one of the [Soylent Corporation's] lovely medical suites for a short nature movie and a glass of wine…

“Green” Fascism Starts with Bath Time

The Department of Energy, led by Barry Obama and DOE head Steven Chu, has decided that taking a nice, long shower is a waste of energy - and therefore should be regulated. In a move that is tantamount to an invasion of privacy, manufacturers may not meet a customer's demand for an inefficient,  water-guzzling shower head. Failure to meet the 2.5 gallon per minute restriction can result in substantial fines to manufacturers (and, of course, higher costs for consumers). The fact that hot showers and baths have been shown to be effective and cheap psychological therapy - which, of course,...

Invisible Tree House, A Tree Huggers Paradise in Sweden w/video

If I told you I found an Invisible Tree House would you believe me? I mean after all, if it is truly invisible how is I could find it?  Which really leaves me in a conundrum because if you cannot see it, then how can I prove it exists?  Well in Sweden there is a company that just built an eco-friendly hotel in a tree they claim is invisible. However, If truth be told this tree house is no more invisible then the Statue of Liberty was after David Copperfield supposedly made it vanish in a magic trick. Just...

The Anti-Drilling Commission

The commission appointed by President Obama to investigate the Gulf oil spill (the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling) does not include a single member with specialized knowledge of petroleum engineering. This is akin to performing a heart transplant with a surgical team that has never set foot in an operating room. Of the seven members appointed to the commission, not one is a petroleum engineer, and all have long-standing ties to the environmental movement. This is certainly the case with Frances Beinecke, Donald Boesch, Terry Garcia, and Frances Ulmer, all of whom have...

America's Fast Track to the Third World

The Department of Defense has sounded an alarm about our access to a strategically vital group of metals called the rare earth elements. A report on the problem prepared by the GAO is not pretty. It concludes the Chinese now control the production, processing and manufacture of final products of these vital metals and now own the patents for many of these processes. The worries of the DoD are well justified; missile guidance systems, smart bombs, night vision gear, unmanned aircraft and much more are dependent on the rare earth elements in some way. Without these metals, our weapons technology...

Flaw in Anti-Oil Sands Plan: American's Aren't Idiots

Mexico, Japan, Sweden, Norway, China, Serbia, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Denmark, France, Philippines, Spain, Austria, South Africa, Ukraine, Isreal, South Korea, Chile, …..(Writers note: I thought I’d make a theoretical list of potential customers for Alberta’s oil sands. While I have every confidence that my American friends are not gullible enough to believe the latest enviroNazi-created anti-Alberta oil sands campaign, from time to time even the best and brightest of Canada’s neighboring nation have been known to get sucked into choosing sizzle over steak and falling for spin(Obama).....

Paper or Plastic? Environmentalism as Public Religion

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners...

Frustration Along Fla. Beaches Over Slow Oil Cleanup ( Regulations prevent BP workers )

NAVARRE, Fla. -- British Petroleum says its latest fix is working to stop the oil leak, but it doesn't look like it. More oil is spewing out and more tar balls are washing ashore on Florida beaches. Now, people are frustrated crews are standing around instead of cleaning them up. Crews are working for only five minutes at a time to clean up the tar balls, because it's so hot to work on the beach. They have to follow federal rules and take lots of breaks.
